Country Kicks

So as I mentioned in my last post, I got my country-girl groove on this weekend and went to Kenny Chesney's No Shoes Nation tour! Being the huge country music fan that I am (shocking to most people because I'm a self-professed die-hard New Yorker - born, bred, and with no plans of leaving) I had the most amazing time! The show was absolutely incredible, and lets be real, who doesn't love a good old fashioned tailgate! I have to say, country music fans sure do know how to have a good time. This tailgate was far rowdier than any sporting event tailgate that I've ever been to. For my friends and I, our version of a tailgate was a few beers, a car, and some good music. Upon arriving, we were quickly dispelled of this notion. The country music crowd has a completely different idea of a "proper" tailgate, including one die-hard group who brought along their full-sized George Forman Grill for the occasion. It was not uncommon to see huge groups of people dancing on top of coach busses or people soaking up the rays in inflatable pools (yes, you read that correctly). There were so many tents, grills, tables, folding chairs, cornhole boards, and the occasional token baby-pools in the parking lot, that finding a spot to actually park the car was an adventure of its own. The tailgate was so much fun that I think everyone was slightly sad to see it end when the concert began! Needless to say, after this weekends experience I'm already looking to buy tickets to the next country concert that comes even remotely  close to my area!
