One of my main struggles with my closet is the overflow factor. Unfortunately, my closet looks nothing like Mariah Carey's (look here to swoon - a girl can dream right?) and I constantly struggle to make room for new additions. Aside from the fact that I have no space to put anything, whatever I do manage to find space for, I can never find, and therefore never wear. Jewelry is my biggest problem when it comes to overflow. I used to stash things away in countless little boxes and drawers. There wasn't even a semblance of order or logic when it came to what went where. The first step to rectifying this problem was for me to invest in two large jewelry boxes. I love Pottery Barn's matching collection. They have a wide variety of sizes, designs, and colors. Red Envelope also has some fabulous organizers! Since one of my biggest pet peeves is clutter, I started storing my new jewelry boxes in my closet. Now at least everything was in one place (kind-of), but my jewels were still not easily accessible when rushing to get ready in the morning. To solve this problem I took a trip to my local TJ Maxx and Homegoods stores to try to find small eclectic pieces to store some of my favorite go-to items. I came away with some great finds! I scored the mini fashion form above from TJ Maxx, and the peacock dish and small glass box from Homegoods. The mini vase that is currently home to some of my favorite bracelets involved getting me in touch with my craftier side! I purchased the glass vase from AC Moore and painted the rim a fabulous gold color. It's a simple look, yet is slightly more elegant than the plain glass vase. I found the small silver flower dish in the back of one of my storage closets. I have absolutely no clue when I got it, or even what it was used for, but now it holds some of my favorite rings and delicate neclaces. I found this adorable little initial dish at C.Wonder (along with about a million other cute home accents that I sadly have no room for). The trick with these little displays is to keep them current! If you don't change up the items fairly frequently, chances are that you're going to keep grabbing the same pieces! Every Sunday I rotate all of the jewelry that I have out so that I have new and fresh inspiration for the upcoming week!
Amazing post! So beautiful:)
